Management

Jaba Gvelebiani is a founder and director of AIG. 

Before joining AIG, Jaba earned BA in Law from Tbilisi State University and LL.M in International Business Law from Central European University. During his Masters studies in Budapest, Jaba spent two months at Cornell Law School, NY, US as a visiting scholar and conducted research in international commercial arbitration.

Jaba is currently a Legal Director at LPA Law firm specializing in transnational business transactions, construction, as welll as tax litigation and arbitration. He is a participant of 18th Annual Willem C Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition and coaches Tbilisi State University team. Jaba teaches arbitration law in Georgian University of Public Affairs and international business transactions at University of Georgia. 

 

Kety Abashidze is a founder and Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Arbitration Initiative Georgia.     

Before joining AIG, Kety earned BA in Law from Tbilisi State University. She further graduated from LL.M programme in European Law, College of Europe, Belgium. Kety is currently enrolled in International Commercial Law and International Alternative Dispute Resolution Certificate programme, organized by Institute of International Commercial Law, Pace University. 

Kety is a participant of 15th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, where she was nominated as an honourable mention for the best oralist. Kety also has a successful record of participation in various international moot court competitions.

Mrs. Abashidze is currently a Human Rights Officer for Eastern Europe at Human Rights Foundation. 

                                                                                                                                 

Tamar Morchiladze is a founder and member of the Supervisory Board of AIG. 

Before joining AIG, Tamar earned BA in Law and MA in Public International Law from Tbilisi State University. She further graduated from LL.M programme in International Trade, Investment and Commercial Law, University of Oslo, Norway.

Tamar has completed International Academy for Arbitration Law (Paris, France) and successfully graduated from the Institute in International Commercial Law & Dispute Resolution (Zagreb, Croatia). Tamar was involved in the translation of ICCA's Guide to the Interpretation of the New York Convention. Among other law competitions, Tamar is a participant of 15th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. 

Ms. Morchiladze is currently an Associate BGIA. She focuses her practice on general corporate and commercial law matters, as well as dispute resolution. 

 

Nata Ghibradze is a founder and member of the Supervisory Board of AIG. 

Nata has earned her BA in Law from Tbilisi State University and is currently completing Master Programme in Law and Business at Bucerius Law School and WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Hamburg, Germany. Before her University studies, Nata graduated from Centerville High School in Ohio, USA.

Prior to leaving for Master Programme, Nata was an Associate at LPA Law Firm in Tbilisi, Georgia. She has also worked at the Department of State Representation in International Courts of Human Rights of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. She also worked at Department of Legal Affairs of the Chief Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia and specialized in international law matters. 

Among other international moot competitions, such as, Price Media Law Moot Court Competition, Telders International Law Moot Court Competition, Jean Pictet International Humanitarian Law Competition, Nata was participant of 18th annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition. She was further involved in coaching Tbilisi University Teams for 19th and 20th annual Vis Moot Competitions. 

Nata is an Assocaite in Hogan Lovells Munich office practicing international commercial arbitration.

 

David Khachvani is a founder and member of the Supervisory Board AIG.

His relevant professional experience includes working at the Department of State Representation in International Arbitration of the Ministry of Justice of Georgia. He has also worked at arbitration group of the London office of international law-firm, Wilmer Hale LLP. David has vast experience in providing assistance for large scale commercial as well as investment arbitration cases.

He obtained LL.M in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS) at University of Geneva. During his bachelor studies at Tbilisi State University, David has participated in different moot competitions, including International Rounds of Jessup Competition and Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.

David is now working as an Associate at Levy, Kaufman-Kohler, Geneva based international arbitration and litigation firm.

 

David Chitaishvili is a founder and member of the Supervisory Board AIG.

Before joining AIG, David earned BA in Law from Tbilisi State University and LLM in International Business Law from Central European University (CEU), Budapest. He has defended his Master’s thesis in International Arbitration with the world known arbitrator and professor Mr. Tibor Varady.

David has also participated in various moot court competitions, including 17th Annual Willem C. Vic International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition, Phillip C. Jessup international Law Moot Court Competition, Foreign Direct Investment Moot Court Competition (2010) and World Trade Organization Moot Court Competition (2010). 

Mr. Chitaishvili currently is an Adviser of Head of International Relations Department at Georgia Revenue Service. He specializes in drafting, negotiating and concluding international agreements and interpreting double tax treaties. Recently, David was delegated with the power to conduct Mutual Agreement Proceedings.

David has coached team of Georgian Technical University for the 21st Annual Willem C. Vic International Commercial Arbitration.

 

Aleksandre Matcharashvili is a member of the Supervisory Board of AIG.

Aleksandre is a winner of the US State Department funded exchange program and studied at Parker School, in Hawaii, U.S.A. Before joining AIG, Aleksandre earned BA in Law from Tbilisi Free University and is now studying at LL.M programme in Business Law at Ilia State University.

Mr. Matcharashvili is a Junior Associate at EY, his areas of expertise include company law, business transactions and tax law. He is a participant of 20th Annual Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot.
