AIG Hosted 6th Tbilisi-Premoot

Back

Arbitration Initiative Georgia is pleased to note on the successful completion of 6th Tbilisi Pre-Moot held during February 24-26, 2017.

The pre-moot marked the beginning of the Vis Moot journey for 12 participant teams and coaches gathering in Tbilisi to excel the oral presentation skills and prepare for the Vienna finals. We are glad to note the particular interest of foreign visiting teams from the University of Passau, University of Utrecht, University of Hamburg, Higher School of Economics, University of Marmara, Kadir Has University and University of Latvia. AIG also celebrates continuing tradition of four Georgian teams from Free University of Tbilisi, Tbilisi State University, Georgian Institute of Public Affairs and New Vision University for maintaining substantial presence of Georgian representation in the moot.

The three-days event was made possible with the assistance of Free University Tbilisi and Tbilisi State University providing state-of-art venues for the Pre-Moot Conference and the oral hearings. We particularly thank EWMI PROLoG for its outstanding financial and logistical support of the pre-moot.

We are proud to partner with GIZ for 6 years already. If not the exceptional contribution from the organization, prsoviding significant financial support for participating teams from Germany, the pre-moot would not stand out with its particularly diverse international coverage.

Arbitration Initiative Georgia conveys the special thanks to the local and international law practitioners providing ever useful presentations on Tbilisi Arbitration Conference - Mr. Giorgi Svanadze from EY Georgia and Ms. Tamar Gongadze from Chadbourne & Park LLP (NY).

6th Tbilisi Pre-Moot was particularly valuable for its social events. AIG is pleased to observe continuous support of EY Georgia providing unique networking opportunity for coaches and arbitrator though already a traditional reception on the eve of the pre-moot.

We are particularly glad to announce the newest feature of the event - official closing and awards ceremony, which was fully arranged by Deloitte Legal. AIG thanks entire Deloitte team for bringing us all together at the wonderful venue and letting the participants and coaches enjoy the end of yet stressful days with unprecedented demonstration of Georgian hospitality.

Finally, Arbitration Initiative Georgia congratulates Free University of Tbilisi on ranking the 1st on the pre-moot with due appreciation of the University of Hamburg (2nd place) and Tbilisi State University (3rd place). We are glad to also note the excellence of Mr. Rishat Vakhidov from the University of Hamburg nominated as the best individual oralist of the pre-moot.

We wish the participants best of luck in Vienna!
